The RVGA is a non-profit organization that has been the Valley's foremost men's golf association fro over thirty years. The organization was started by Roanoke Hall of Famer, H. L. Jackson. He took the idea of people playing golf for fun, and founded an organization that would promote golf in a competitive way for all ages. H. L. was instrumental in starting in starting the Roanoke Valley Amateur competition and the Valley Am Junior; events that sport the valleys better amateurs with others in a match play format.
The RVGA also offers an exclusive members association that offers great golf in lesser competitive events for all handicaps ranges. Our current membership sports members with 5 to 36+ handicaps. Our membership offers tournaments usually once or twice a month, played on Sunday afternoons at Hanging Rock Golf Course. The membership also holds an awards banquet in November, which is included in your membership fee, where the member and his guest are treated to a great dinner, fellowship, and of course, the awards and prizes.
